  comparethemarket.com.au is an Australian price comparison website which offers a service for customers to compare a range of general insurance, health insurance, life insurance, energy and personal finance products.

  As a Senior Devops engineer, I am responsible for managing AWS infrastructure, seamless and secure deployment of CTM microservices to containerised workloads running on EKS

  Technologies Used: EKS, Terraform, Azure Devops, ArgoCD, NewRelic, Cloudflare
  
  Major work and achievements:
  • Deployed Microservices via Helm Charts controlled by ArgoCD, secured by Cloudflare ZeroTrust.
  • Deployed EKS clusters via terraform,implemented Karpenter for autoscaling with spot instances, which reduced cost by 30%.
  • Migrated CronJobs running on standard Linux ec2 instances to K8 Jobs. This reduced depedency on the software vendor
  • Successfully transitioned a legacy Zalenium cluster ( running on dedicated EKS cluster ) to a modern Selenium cluster( multi-tenant EKS cluster ) enhancing test automation capabilities for multi-pass testing.

  As an SRE, I am responsible for uptime, availability and observability of Performio applications which are hosted on AWS

  Major work and achievements:
  • Replaced a legacy log4j SimpleSocketServer with a more modern solution using Logstash and Filebeat.
  • Deployed rds-notifier which is an internal tool to re-actively monitor RDS db using Eventbridge.
  • Implemented Squadcast ( https://www.squadcast.com/ ) for monitoring Performio apps.
  • Designed and deployed internal command line tools used during application deployment to a more cloud native solution using AWS Lambda.

  As a Devops Engineer, I am responsible for maintaining and building the AWS infrastructure for carsales micro services.

  Major work and achievements:
  • Built a notification platform for AWS service using AWS event bridge/rules, SQS, SNS and deployed using aws chalice python framework..
  • Deployed AWS Lambda using Chalice python framework to change AWS Cloudwatch log group retention period.
  • Built and deployed Prometheus cluster which includes supporting components like Alertmanager, Blackbox and Grafana on AWS Environment using docker container orchestrated by AWS ECS.Used AWS CDK (Python) to build the prometheus infrastructure.

  As a Senior DevOps Engineer, I play a key role in managing Plivo’s AWS infrastructure and ensuring high availability and performance.

  Major work and achievements:
  • Established VPC peering between 6 AWS regions to improve the reliability and availability of Plivo’s infrastructure.
  • Designed and deployed latest stack of graphite clusters which included components like carbon-relay-ng, carbon-cache, graphite-web, and grafana.
  • Designed and deployed Ansible AWX inside Plivo’s infrastructure. This was used by NOC team to run Ansible playbook during outages/issues.

  Instart specializes primarily in developing and marketing a Digital Experience Cloud that improves web and mobile application performance, consumer experience and security.

  As a Operation Engineer, I was responsible for managing Instart infrastructure spread over 26 physical PoP (Point of presence) and 18 Cloud PoP.

  Major work and achievements:
  • Configured and managed HA-Proxy along with ExaBGP in physical data centers and HA-Proxy with Keepalived in Cloud PoP.
  • Automated the deployment process of Node.js applications covering provisioning of AWS instances using Ansible playbook.
  • Setup monitoring for applications and systems using Nagios and proactively add any missing monitoring checks either as Active or Passive Nagios checks.

  As a Devops engineer, I was responsible for designing and building network and system architecture across AWS.

  • Carried out cost auditing and designed solutions to reduce AWS costs by moving all internal AWS ELB to Ha-Proxy to reduce the number of ELB.
  • Deployed the ELK (Fluentd, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) stack in AWS for log processing for Tomcat Applications under the Hubzu platform.

  InMobi is a global provider of advertising for mobile apps and devices.

  As a Operations engineer, I was responsible for the build, configuration and management of an infrastructure that spanned more than a 1000 Linux servers and AWS cloud.

  Major work and achievements:
  • Deployed DNS Bind in InMobi’s infrastructure. This setup was highly available and replaced the legacy SPOF setup.
